What is Tennis Elbow ?

Tennis Elbow, or Lateral Epicondylitis, is a common injury that causes pain on the outside of the elbow. It is often associated with playing tennis, which is how it gets its name. However, the condition can occur during any activity that leads to overuse of the forearm muscles attached to the bony lump on the outer elbow.
A similar condition is called Golfer’s Elbow, which causes pain on the inner side of the elbow. If not treated properly, epicondylitis can often become a chronic problem.

Causes of Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow is most common in people between the ages of 35 and 55, although other age groups can also be affected. While playing tennis can cause the condition, it is not the only factor. Any activity that involves repetitive use of the wrist and forearm can lead to tennis elbow, such as:
