Rheumatic Diseases is an umbrella term for conditions causing chronic, often intermittent pain affecting the joints and/or connective tissue. Rheumatic diseases affect your joints and muscles. Some, like osteoarthritis, are the result of wear and tear. Others, such as rheumatoid, are immune system problems. Physical therapy remains an important tool in rheumatic disease treatment.
The Rheumatology department at Core Concept provides a wide range of services for rheumatologic conditions. All physiotherapist lead by Dr. Umesh Falak has extensive experience in management of Rheumatic Diseases.

Before starting therapy, the physiotherapy needs of patients are determined in accordance with their incapacity, disability, and handicaps. Physical assessment should include these components :

• Functional Assessment (i.e. transfer status, analysis of gait, activities of daily living)
• Muscle Strength Test (manual or by isokinetic equipment)
• Postural Assessment; and Evaluation of respiratory function
